We each had a life we were pursuing, Plan A: careers, homes, vacations, communities and dreams. But, the world has changed, our situations have changed, and we have changed. Now, we are trying Plan B and embracing a life of adaptation.
We are not millenials vanlifing before we settle down. We are not retirees living out the dreams we had foregone. Nor are we road warriors, living for the freedom and community it creates. We are Plan Bers, and we represent a new type of nomad.
Plan A was no longer possible and despite a global chorus calling for a return to normalcy, going back to what we had before was no longer an option. The only way open to us was forward: a vague, instinctive direction without destination or end…more a way of life than a way to go, a way of life based on constant adaptation and learning as we go.
